GROUP 4:  That subjectivism should be the dominant approach in aesthetic evaluation than emotivism.

DEBATE  (SPEAKER 2) : Different between Emotivism  and Subjectivism

-          1) The problem with subjectivism is not all opinion by some people are same and because of that, if majority of the community say “Yes” to the design, and it will be true. Although the right evaluation are wrong.

Example: If we look one video on the screen, watched by 50 people, not everyone that watched have same opinion, same brain and same taste. If 30 people said the video are best, and  balanced spectator will followed them. That’s not the accurate way to do aesthetic evaluation.

Different if we evaluation with emotivism. Normally before the process begin, the criteria must be set up. Example of criteria: Audience should be able to feel nostalgic to the extent that they remember their hometown every time they eat durian when watched the video. So, if this criteria is not achieved, that’s video don’t have content like that.

-         2)  Weakness of subjectivism is, the evaluation depend on the experience life by someone and situation.

Example: The man that are tall are handsome than short man. If we always think like that, how pity the short man? That’s not fair, I’m really disagree with that. This case happen because it already set up by women since early. This is some example situation that already exist and it calculated to find miss universe or stewardess.

So, is that the right way to evaluate something depend on that point? We must followed the rule in evaluation. Set the criteria and then judge something depend on that, not depend on situation or experience life by judges.
